In hindsight, hiking in the Lake District on a bitter day in November wasn't, perhaps, the best way to fix a broken heart. 

Martha Bigalow's tumble into an angry river somehow catapults her across time, far away from the comforts of the twenty-first century, and into the harsh medieval world of Erde, where an attractive stranger offers her protection with the role of his 'wife'. 

Vadim is a wanted man. An outlaw. The last thing his life needs is added complications. But when he finds a strangely attired woman lying beside the river, he feels compelled to assist her. Against his better judgement, he vows to help Martha find her way back home. 

Until then, Martha must try and fit into medieval society, to avoid the Evil Earl and his minions, and maybe—just maybe—learn how to trust her heart again.
